I met with Japanese government officials and educators, learning about the life and culture of the Japanese people. Then, traveling in groups of 20 I visited a host city, mine was Ota-Ku, a suburb of Tokyo, where we came in direct contact with primary and secondary schools as well as a teachers college. I also visited cultural sites and local industries as well as a brief homestay with a Japanese family, the Hondas. Mr. Honda is an English teacher at a high school in Ota-Ku.
It was a trip of a life time with many new friends made and so much information learned about the Japanese way of life. I hope to use the information I obtained to enrich the lives of my students.
I hope that the information on these pages is helpful to you. Materials for each class are updated frequently. There are also pages that contain documents available for use during the semester. I hope that you will find learning about Computers and Science an enjoyable experience.
