Hello, I am Jeanette Henson and I am excited to be the School Counselor at Wayland Bonds Elementary.  Along with my responsibilities as School Counselor, I am also the before/after care director, assistant archery coach, and 6th grade girls basketball coach.  I am starting my 11th year in education.  I taught 6th grade for four years, and have been a counselor for 7 years.  I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in December of 2007 and a Master in Education in School Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma in May of 2012.  I am back at UCO and currently working towards becoming an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).  My son, Daxton, and I love to travel, especially to the Major League Baseball stadiums.  We are huge baseball fans.
As School Counselor, my goal is to is to help develop and implement a comprehensive counseling program that is an integral part of the entire school program.  The program is designed to help every student be successful academically, emotionally, and socially.  I am dedicated to servicing all students, parents, and school staff.

    • bullying/conflict management
    • decision-making/problem-solving
    • friendship/positive relationships
