    Title I Reading Specialist

I graduated from Norman High School in 2003. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond in 2007. I taught first grade for a couple years at Eugene Field in Oklahoma City. I had an amazing mentor there who encouraged me to go back to school and get my Masters in Reading. I graduated with my Masters in 2012. I continued to teach first grade at Hawthorne in Oklahoma City and then got to become the Title I reading specialist there. A few years later, I decided to move to Norman and teach 3rd grade at Kennedy. I really missed being a reading specialist, so now I'm the Title I reading specialist at Northmoor. I am loving being an All-Star!

I got married in Florida in June 2016 to Matthew. We live in Moore and have 4 fur babies! We have two dogs and two cats. Nymeria and Stark are our dogs and they are six. We got them from Second Chance four years ago. Trevor and Charlie are our cats. Trevor just turned 14 and Charlie will be 10 in January. We love to travel. We have visited Pensacola, Florida many times. We love southern California, but our hearts lie in Denver. We've also been to Texas, Missouri, and Tennessee. We look forward to visiting the Grand Canyon and traveling internationally in the next few years.

I love to run half marathons. I have completed the Oklahoma City half five times. I also ran the OKC Go Girl in March and will be running two more this year, one in Kansas City and one in Memphis. I have also completed the Route 66 half in Tulsa and am planning to run it again this year. I run about 20 miles per week.
