   Superintendent's Message

June 10, 2013

Dear Moore Public Schools Family:

We have heard from people across the country who have sent in monetary donations of all sizes, messages of hope and strength, and offers to travel many miles to come and help in person.  Moore is a strong community and we will rebuild no matter what, but the love and support we have received from across our state and our country has lifted us up immeasurably.  Even through this tragedy, we know we are blessed.

We are actively working to ensure that all of our sites will be up and running for the upcoming school year.  Countless employees and volunteers are working tirelessly to get us back to business as usual.  It will be a long road but never forget, Moore is OK.

Susan "Susie" Pierce

Moore Public Schools Superintendent

BJH A 4.00 School

Brink is a feeder school for Southmoore and Westmoore High Schools and is located in South Oklahoma City. Students come to Brink from Wayland Bonds, Briarwood, Eastlake, Earlywine, Fisher, and Red Oak elementary schools. Brink serves 916 students in grades 7 and 8 and employs 54 certified teachers, three counselors and three administrators. We also have a media specialist, a nurse, a speech pathologist and several teaching assistants. Our school hours for students are 7:55 a.m. - 2:32 p.m. daily. We hope you enjoy our site and find the information you need.

Brink Junior High School has always set high standards of achievement, citizenship, and leadership. It has been characteristic for our students to have pride in themselves and in their school. This pride, when coupled with a desire to do their best in the classroom and in co-curricular activities, makes our student body the outstanding group that it is.

All students are encouraged to contribute to Brink's fine tradition through participation in school activities and giving an honest effort in the classroom. You will find the faculty most anxious to help them in everyway possible.

Brink Junior High School believes that our primary goal is to prepare our students to be productive and responsible members of our society. We acknowledge from the outset that each student has different talents and abilities. Therefore, our efforts bring about productive and responsible individuals.

We encourage the acquisition of academic and technological skills that will prepare students to transmit the technology of the future. Moreover, we believe that these skills are best acquired through critical thinking, management of resources, challenging experiences, and the fulfillment of learning.

We encourage responsibility among our students by exposing them to cultural, artistic, social skills and moral values. We encourage respect for the civil rights of others by treating our students with respect and equality. Ultimately, we strive to assist the student in the development of an appreciation of one's self and others.
