   Superintendent's Message

June 10, 2013

Dear Moore Public Schools Family:

We have heard from people across the country who have sent in monetary donations of all sizes, messages of hope and strength, and offers to travel many miles to come and help in person.  Moore is a strong community and we will rebuild no matter what, but the love and support we have received from across our state and our country has lifted us up immeasurably.  Even through this tragedy, we know we are blessed.

We are actively working to ensure that all of our sites will be up and running for the upcoming school year.  Countless employees and volunteers are working tirelessly to get us back to business as usual.  It will be a long road but never forget, Moore is OK.

Susan "Susie" Pierce

Moore Public Schools Superintendent

Central Junior High is located east of I-35 in Moore, Oklahoma, south of North 12th and north of Main. More than 500 students are enrolled in grades 7 and 8, supported by over 70 education professionals. A feeder school for Moore High School, Central Junior High targets the needs of all students with honors-level classes, remedial instruction, individual education plans, and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Our day begins at Central Junior High when the first bell rings at 7:45 a.m. and students are allowed into the building. Every student attends six classes throughout the school day. There are two lunch periods—10:56 to 11:26 a.m. and 11:58 to 12:28 p.m.—served in the school cafeteria and the student store. School ends each day at 2:32 p.m.
