Honor Society

The purpose of this organization shallIN be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage citizenship.
This Saturday, April 11,  at the Moore Community Center there is a Weather Preparedness event that needs volunteers. You would work from 9am to 3pm (please have parents pick you up right at 3). You would receive 10 points for working the entire event. You would be helping set up, clean up and work at booths stamping the participants cards. They need 20 to 30 volunteers. Sign up outside Mrs. Micue's room 303 or Mrs. Ellis' room 202 as soon as possible. We need a count on Thursday, April 9th if possible. Thank you.
NEEDED: School supplies (pencils, composition notebooks, paper, crayons, rulers, binders, pocket folders, glue sticks, kids scissors, construction paper, etc.) for Southgate Elementary. Our school is collecting supplies and will be delivering them to Southgate since many of their supplies were damaged or destroyed. Have students bring them and put them in the bins in front of the main office.
Our NJHS chapter will also be collecting (for service points) items to put in emergency bags for each teacher and staff member of Southgate Elementary- we need glow sticks, garden or work gloves, small packages of tissues, small hand sanitizers, small whistles, pens, small flashlights, and disposable gloves or first aid items.

The current sponsors are:
Mrs. Beverly Micue and Mrs. Karen Ellis

We are now collecting aluminum tabs from cans. We are collecting these for the Ronald McDonald House that puts families up who are here with critically or terminally ill children so they can be near their children while the child receives treatment. 200 tabs will be awarded 1 point.

We will be recycling Monday afternoons at school all year. It will take from 30 minutes to one hour and we need 5 volunteers each week. Sign up and earn one point each week that you help.
We will also be doing School Beautification every Monday, all year. This will be from 2:25 to 3:00. You need to either wear or bring something to wear that is ok to get dirty since some of the time we will be working outside picking up trash or pulling weeds. Let's all help to keep our school nice and beautiful!
