• Grading Policy

    My goal is to record at least one grade per week for each student.  Grades for students in 2nd through 6th grade will be available on line on the Parent Portal.  Grades for students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will be kept in my paper grade book and will be available during conferences at parent request.

    Daily grades will reflect participation, mastery of concepts, and classroom behavior.  Moore Public Schools uses an E, S, N, and U system for all music grade reporting.  My system will be as follows:
              4 = E or excellent
              3 = S or satisfactory
              2 = N or needs more work
              1= U or unsatisfactory

    Written work will be graded on a 0 to 100 scale.  This includes worksheets for Spanish class as well as all worksheets and tests done in music class.  Since the grading system does not recognize those values, the following scale will be used as I enter grades in the on-line system:
             87-100 = 4 = E or excellent
            74-86 =    3  = S or satisfactory
            60-73 =   2  = N or needs more work
            45-59 =   1  = U or unsatisfactory
      below 45 = 0 =  failing grade
