I was born in Panama City, Florida, but grew up in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, in a dual language school. At that school we went to all our classes in both English and Spanish! I graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Spanish Education. I studied in Malaga, Spain, for two summers and have traveled to 18 countries and 48 states in the USA. I am both bi-lingual and bi-cultural. This is my fifth year teaching at Moore Public Schools and my 15th year of teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language. I love the Spanish language and culture and hope to pass that passion on to your children. I also love learning right along with the students! Maestra Lyon
I am a firm believer that the classroom is a community of learners, with the goal of thriving independently. My objective is to not only help students with academics, but also to help them be successful in the real world. As a member of this community, the students will be expected to support other students in their academics, creating a classroom free of judgment and hostility.
The focus is to provide students with the skills they need to create language for communication. An understanding of Hispanic culture will be integrated throughout the course.
