    All about me

My name is Leslie Madrid. I grew up in South Oklahoma City with my mother, father, and older brother, Billy. As a child I attended Houchin Elementary, Red Oak Elementary and graduated from West Moore High School. I then continued my education at The University of Central Oklahoma, where I graduated in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I completed my Masters of Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in June 2010.

I have four children, but three of them have four legs. Missy and Bella are my dogs and Panda is my cat. My husband and I welcomed our first child Candan in July 2015. As much as I love animals, please do not offer me anymore. I am bursting with animals! My family is very important to me. You will often find me at a Girl Scout meetings or T-ball games for my nieces or nephews.

Even though school wasn’t always easy for me as a child, I really enjoyed learning. My favorite subjects in school were Reading and Social Studies. My least favorite subject in school was spelling. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade. I loved my second grade teacher Mrs. Cavnar.

I have been teaching at Central Elementary for ten years. I absolutely love my job! The kids at Central Elementary are the best. The other fifth grade teachers and I work really well together. We are super competitive at Cub Call and always expect the most from our students. Most importantly we will do whatever it takes to truly make a difference in our students’ lives.
