History of Earlywine Elementary
In 1993, a new school was added to the Moore Schools Family. It was named Earlywine Elementary. As you may guess, it is in close proximity to Earlywine Park and the Earlywine Golf Course.
The principal chosen to help launch this new school was Brenda Page. Her staff ranged from teachers who had been in the district for many years to teachers who were new to the teaching field. Under her leadership, a fine school was established.
The new student body was formed from students who had attended other schools such as Fisher and Fairview. Their first job was to vote on a school mascot and colors. The colors picked were navy blue, green, and gold. You might be surprised by the mascot, seeing that Oklahoma is a land-locked state, but the kids chose the dolphin. It’s fitting though because the dolphin is very intelligent just like the students.
In 1999, Chris Bolen became the new principal. He continued the traditions previously established and created a comfortable atmosphere in which teachers could work and students can learn. Now we are pleased to have Lonia Brown as our principal. She has been a teacher, councelor and principal and came to us from Apple Creek. We are happy to have had her as our new principal in 2010-2011. We will continue proudly in the tradition that has established us as a great school!
