6th Grade Policies & ProceduresBRIARWOOD BEARS "B" RULES/EXPECTATIONS1. Be prompt.2. Be prepared.3. Be polite.4. Be productive.5. Be positive.
CONSEQUENCES: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T FOLLOW THE "B" RULES:
1. You will be written up for being tardy. If you have a note from your parents with an acceptable excuse, we will not write you up.Acceptable excuses: doctor/dentist appointments, funerals, major disasters
Unacceptable excuses: sleeping late, long line in the cafeteria, bike trouble...
2. Work is due on the due date. Refer to the assignment policy.
3. Students who do not follow directions, refuse to work, disrupt the class, or otherwise misbehave, will be written up. A student written up for misbehavior 2 times in one day will receive recess detention. Severe misbehavior will be dealt with immediately in the office.REWARDS FOR FOLLOWING THE "B" RULES:
1. Students who follow the "B" rules WILL be rewarded with "Bear Bucks!" Bear Bucks can be used for snack and pop passes, sitting on a bouncy ball, buying pencils and erasers, EXTRA RECESS ON FRIDAYS, and various other fun things that the 6th grade team comes up with! So stay tuned and follow the "B" rules!2. Teachers will keep track of Bear Bucks on student discipline pages. EXTRA Bear Bucks are given for good grades on progress reports and report cards.3. Teachers will use the discipline page write ups to determine E, S, N, U grades on the report card. Copies of discipline pages will be sent home with progress reports and report cards. (Students with excessive write ups can expect to have their parents contacted and their discipline page sent home as needed.)4. Our principal, Mr. Harrison, will be recognizing great students through his Principal's 200 Club. Stay tuned for more information on that!
