• COUGAR KICKOFF FOR 7th GRADERS- AUGUST 9th 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Cougar Kickoff is an event for our 7th graders.  This is a student event to not only show them around the building, but to help build relationships with other 7th graders so that the first days of school will be less stressful.  This is led by students who were trained in May to be student mentors.  So… save the date – August 9th from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Please drop your son/daughter off at the front of the school BY 8:30 a.m.  They will wait outside until 8:30, when the doors open and they will all enter at once.  There is a full program for the new 7th graders that will end at 11:30 a.m.  This program is specifically designed for the students, and is a first step in helping them to become independent.  Thank you for understanding.

    SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Among the big frustrations of moving from elementary school to Junior High is the lack of published school supply lists.  With Junior High and High School, supplies are determined by the individual teacher and until school starts, there is no certainty as to which teacher your child will have.  Because of this, we unfortunately must wait until the first day of school to get supply lists.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.  Just have your child bring paper and pen/pencil on the first day of school. However, we will be moving toward a standardized supply list for the future.

    TDAP/IMMUNIZATIONS

There are more than 100 students who we show have not yet received the required tDap vaccine.  It is urgent that this be taken care of before school begins.  If your child is among this group, please be sure to get the immunization taken care of and to provide us with a copy of the record.  It can be faxed to us at (405) 793-3198

State Law requires that every child receive the tDap vaccination by the time they reach the 7th grade.  Please be sure that your child has had this vaccination (and any other required immunization) and provide documentation to the school office.  Please have this completed before school begins in August.

    Thank you.
