Students need to fill out the AR Story Frame and give to Mrs. Hankins before a test is taken.
Things to include in a summary:
Introduce the main character(s).
Introduce the conflict.
Explain how the character(s) tried to overcome the conflict.
Explain the outcome.
Don't include a lot of details. A summary is short, so choose your words carefully.
Example: Carry On, Mr. Bowditch by Jean Lee Latham Biography
Nat Bowditch was a mathematical genius. He was one of many children from a family of sailors that was struggling to get by during the early years of our country. Nat's dream of attending Harvard was dashed when at the age of 12 he became an indentured servant. Nat's drive for knowledge led him to become a self-educated man. Even though he had very little formal education, he became a well respected and successful sea captain and businessman.
