• My name is Amy Minor and I am the speech pathologist for Moore West Junior High. I have been here at Moore West for 6 years and I am very passionate about my job.
I grew up living all over the United States and in Venezuela for 4 years. I have moved 15 times in my life due to my dad's occupation in oil refinery construction. Due to this experience, I am very good at packing and am very efficient with moving things! Competitive tennis was a way of life growing up. I was a top 5 Texas tennis player, three time team Oklahoma state champion and #1 singles individual state champion in 2003. I went on to play college D-1 tennis at University of Wyoming. I met my husband there in Laramie, WY and received a bachelors in Communication Disorders and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, we moved to Oklahoma City, so I could attend University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center for my masters degree in Communication Disorders.
I love all things speech pathology. I have a working speech pathology blog where I share my knowledge with people around the country. I worked in acute care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health care and schools.
I have a wonderful family who are all very supportive. My son, Kade, is a very busy toddler who keeps me on my toes. My husband is a very skilled mechanic and handy man and makes all my household dreams come true.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I am very transparent, passionate and caring. I WILL DO whatever is needed to help my students be successful. My students carry all of their success. I just give them the tools.
