We plan to participate in these categories that do not require our students attendance. If you are interested please see the link below and the highlighted categories that we can submit work. We will be setting up a MPS account. We will need your entries no later than February 23rd. See Ms. Taylor if you are interested. The theme for the 2018 ONAYLF Poster Art category is “Dreaming In My Language.”http://samnoblemuseum.ou.edu/collections-and-research/native-american-languages/oklahoma-native-american-youth-language-fair/
Dear Moore Public Schools Chickasaw Students and Families,
Moore Public Schools Indian Education Program will host a “Native Language Night” to include potluck dinner, Monday, February 12, 2018 6:00 p.m. at Moore’s Administration Building. Our goal is to help students prepare for the Oklahoma Native American Youth Language Fair (ONAYLF), specifically in the Poster Material Submissions category.
We will have Chickasaw language resources available, including Native speakers, and we need your help with some preparation before the February 12 event.
Here’s what we need:
- We need to know your student is interested in participating. Please RSVP to email@example.com as soon as possible if you plan to attend February 12, or if you cannot attend that evening, but still plan to submit an entry and would like help with the Chickasaw words.
- We need you to send the WORDS/IDEAS your child wants to write on their poster in Chickasaw. We need those no later than 5:00 p.m. February 5 to allow time to compile the words. Again, please email those or bring them to the ASC.
THAT’S IT! Then, please plan to come and bring a potluck dish to share Monday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m. We will provide materials your child can use to work on their Art: poster board, markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.
