Thank you for your patience regarding the implementation of student ID’s at the junior high level. Now that the technology and equipment is in place at Southridge, we are ready to distribute the student ID’s and implement the ID policy. The ID policy can be found on page 41-42 in the student handbook, which is accessible on the school website, or use this link. I have also included the policy below.
If they haven’t done so already, students will need to purchase their ID’s ($10) between now and January 8th in the media center, or you may use this “My Payments Plus” link, to pay online.
When students return to school after Winter Break on January 8th, they will receive their ID’s, a clear protective sleeve, and a lanyard. The next day, January 9th, they will begin wearing and using the ID’s to enter the building and check out library books. Eventually, the students will use their ID’s to access their cafeteria accounts, but they are not set up for that yet.
Please review the policy with your child, including the steps that will be followed when a student is not in compliance with the policy. The policy will be consistently enforced by school personnel, and your parental support is much appreciated and crucial for the success of this safety initiative.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 735-4680 if you have any questions.
