    1. What time does school start/end, and where do I drop off and pick up?

    8:45 a.m. & 12:50 p.m. – Students may enter the building.

    9:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. – Class begins

    Pre-k Dismissal begins at 11:25 a.m. & 3:25 p.m.

It is the parent’s responsibility to inform daycare providers of our class times, early dismissals, and holidays.

Students shall be dropped off on the south side of the building and picked up at the front entrance. Please remain in your car, your child will be accompanied by a teacher or teacher assistant. If your child requires assistance with seatbelts, please pull forward. If anyone other than you or those designated on your transportation list are scheduled to pick up your child, I must have a written note, email or a phone call to the office.

    1. Will my child check out library books?

Our class will go to the library every Wednesday to check out library books. We will have a library lesson once a month. Library books should be returned on or before Wednesday each week.

    1. Do I need to send snacks to school?

We ask each family to help us stock our snack pantry by providing one of the suggested items. When our pantry is getting empty, I’ll send another request. Suggested items: Cheese crackers, Graham crackers, Animal crackers, Cookies, Fruit loops, Teddy Grahams, Vanilla wafers, Peanut butter crackers, Ritz cheese Sandwich crackers, Goldfish crackers.

    1. What if my child arrives to school late, and what is the attendance policy?

We understand that there may be instances when it is not possible to be here on time. However, please try to have your child at school on time so we can begin our day together. If your child is late he or she will be missing many valuable learning experiences which may impact the learning process. You will need to check your child in at the front office if tardy. Tardies will be noted on report cards and habitual tardiness may affect your child’s progress in pre- Kindergarten.

Pre-K follows the Moore district policy as outlined in the Moore Student Handbook. School attendance is very important and should only be missed in the event of illness or emergency. Please call the school office if your child will be absent.

    1. What is the best way to contact Miss Turner?

The best way to contact me is by text messaging. My cell phone number is on the green magnet, as well as my email (Haleyturner@mooreschools.com) if that works best for you. You may also call the school at 735-4150 and leave a message. I will try to return calls promptly before/after school or lunch time.

    1. What if I need to send money to school with my child?

Whenever it is necessary for your child to bring money to school, please put it in an envelope labeled with your child’s name.

    1. What should my child wear to school?

Your child’s clothing should be comfortable and easy for him/her to manage independently. Pre-K is a busy place so sometimes we can get pretty messy. Play clothes are better than dress clothes. Comfortable shoes are essential for our gross motor activities.

    1. Does my child need an extra change of clothes?

In the event of a bathroom accident or very messy day in school, if you would like to keep a full change of labeled clothes in a Ziploc bag in your child’s backpack, you may do so. Please remember that all Pre-K students should be able to use the restroom independently, but I do understand that accidents happen.

    1. Can I bring treats to school for my child’s birthday?

Birthdays are a big deal in Pre-K. We recognize every birthday during class. You are welcome to send treats to celebrate your child’s special day. Cookies, miniature cupcakes, or donuts are great treats. Please do NOT send cakes, large cookies, and large cupcakes as they are often messy and difficult to serve. Summer birthdays will be recognized in May!

    1. May my child bring special blankets, toys, etc. to school?

There will be special days when students will be asked to bring items from home for sharing time. Unless a day has been designated, all toys and special items MUST remain at home.

    1. May my child bring a water bottle to school?

Your child may bring a water bottle to school if desired. Please label the bottle with your child’s name. WATER ONLY—Thank you!

    1. What can I do to help?

There are many opportunities for parents to help teachers and students both in and out of the classroom. Practicing and reinforcing skills at home will be beneficial to your child’s success in school. (Please see copy of Pre-K report card) Watch for emails that request help in class or items to be sent for activities.
