 Highland West Junior High Bands

Welcome! We are very pleased that you have chosen to be a part of the Highland West Junior High Band. If you are not yet enrolled at Highland West, we hope that you will choose to be a part of the band program when you get here!

The ultimate goals of our program are to develop the individual musician to the highest limit of his/her potential, create a positive learning environment for every student, and provide opportunities to progress responsibility, leadership and teamwork: individual characteristics that are essential to becoming productive and model adults.

The band program is a vital part of the total school life and represents our school, the district, and our community in a positive manner. Numerous performance and leadership opportunities are available within the Highland West Band program including concert performances, pep-band performances, and regional honor band performances. Individual opportunities are also available through district solo and ensemble contest each spring.

We are further committed to making the band experience as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible. After all, the opportunity to perform and experience the art of music is a chance not to be taken lightly. Many of your most fond memories of school will be made through your experiences in band! Don’t miss out!

Please feel free to contact Mr. Church or any other band staff member with questions.
