    Attendance Policy

    In order to receive credit for a course, a student cannot be absent more than (10) days during a given semester. Parents need to call the Attendance Secretary to confirm all absences.  All absences, even confirmed absences, count toward the ten allowable absences unless the absence falls under one of the following categories:

    1.   School sponsored activities

    2.   Medical treatment with doctor's note

    3.   Serving as a legislative page

    4.   A court subpoena

    5.   Religious holidays or activities

    6.   Bereavement

    All doctor's notes and other documentation of absences need to be delivered to the Attendance Secretary within (5) days of the student's return to school. Please refer to the complete attendance policy in the Student/Parent Handbook that your child received at the beginning of school

     CHECKING STUDENTS IN AND OUT

    All students need to be checked in and out through the Attendance Office. No student can be checked out to any person who is not designated on the student's emergency procedures records. In the interest of safety, these procedures help us to assure that no student leaves the building with an unauthorized person.  Phone check-out is not permitted.


     

    MAKE-UP WORK

    All students have the same number of days to complete make-up assignments as the number of days that they are absent. After a student is absent three days, upon request, we can collect homework assignments for the parents to pick up. Request work by 10:00 a.m. so that the work can be ready for pick-up by 3:00 p.m.


     DRESS CODE

    Please refer to the complete dress code policy found in the  Student/Parent Handbook for specifics. Generally speaking, the student dress code is based on the premise of recognizing fashion without sacrificing decency, safety and general good taste. No clothing which allows undergarments to be seen, is acceptable. Hats may not be worn while at school. No suggestive slogans, or logos, which pertain to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco are allowed. Naturally, any type of apparel that identifies or promotes gang/cult involvement is unacceptable. No article of clothing, which exposes the midriff or is to revealing is allowed.  Ultimately, the principal's discretion will judge any questionable attire.

    MEDICATIONS

    If your child needs to take any medication while at school, the medication must be checked into the Attendance Office by the parent. Additionally, the parent must complete a medical authorization form to allow appropriate school personnel to administer the medication. Except under special circumstances authorized by law and district policy, students who carry any type of medication on their person are subject to disciplinary action under the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy.
