Citrix and Thin Clients

Citrix is a method of computing that the district is moving towards.  Citrix is the name of the application system where thin-clients are the devices that use Citrix.  Why are we exploring this method?  Thin clients are machines that do not have a hard drive in them, so they are cheaper, and since they do not have moving parts, they last much longer than conventional machines.  The devices get all their applications from either the web or through the server environment.  There are virtually no applications loaded locally.  Any updates that are needed can be done at the server level and are immediately available to all Citrix users making service and support much more efficient as well.

What department manages this?
