The technology department can assist you with most all technology purchases.  We like to be involved before acquisition of equipment or software so that we can determine whether items to be acquired meet our specifications.  Our machines are most often well-above requirements for most software or other hardware, but for safety and security concerns on the network, we want to make sure that once acquired, our department will be able to support the items.
