What is Ignite Moore?

One of the ways in which Moore Schools chooses to positively influence the lives of children is by offering a collective leadership experience throughout the school year.  Close to 100 student leaders from all three of Moore’s high schools, will come together for the 2016-17 Superintendent’s Leadership Academy: Ignite Moore.

Through the school year students will be exposed to leadership development through five different sessions. They will learn about their role as leaders, their potential as leaders in the future, as well as bring additional unity among the three high schools. As the Superintendent, and leader of the district, I will be participating in every event with the students. It is important to me as a Moore alumnus that we develop leaders who will hopefully come back to our great community and give back to where they got their start.

What are the 5 Leadership Sessions?

  • Ropes Course to get students acquainted with one another and challenge their leadership skills, thought process as well as personal goal setting
  • Community Service Project packing food boxes for the Backpack for Kids Program with Regional OK Food Bank
  • Education Day road trip to tour the education partners in the Cleveland County community: Moore Norman Technology Center, Oklahoma City Community College, and the University of Oklahoma
  • Day at the Capitol an opportunity to meet with local legislators and the State Superintendent of Education and sit in on the legislative process in action, to see first hand how bills are discussed and voted on
  • Banquet with student and their parents to celebrate completion of Ignite Moore
