Moore High School Mission Statement: The mission of MHS is preparing all students for college, career, and workplace readiness.
Moore High School is a four-year comprehensive high school located in Moore, Oklahoma, a suburb south of Oklahoma City. Moore High School is one of the largest high schools in the state with a population of 2,185. The student body includes residents of South Oklahoma City as well as the city of Moore. Moore is one of three high schools in the Moore Public School District, the third largest district in the state. Moore High School is classified as a 6A school. Moore-Norman Technology Vocational-Technical Center courses are offered either a.m. or p.m. to eleventh and twelfth graders through application. Transportation is provided.
Moore is accredited by the North Central Association, the Oklahoma State Department of Education, the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Association, and High Schools That Work. Accredited classes are provided for students with disabilities and students on homebound. Internet courses and an alternative high school are also available as needed.
Oklahoma City is the 29th largest city in the United States with a metropolitan area population of 1,000,000. This figure includes the city of Moore, which has a population of 47,000. In this area there are 16 two-year colleges and four-year universities. Being part of a large, metropolitan area, Moore High School has access to several colleges and universities which provide students with a wide variety of educational, cultural, and social opportunities. Major employers include the state government, Tinker Air Force Base, Dell Corporation, Southwest Airlines, Chesapeake Energy, Kerr McGee, Federal Aviation Administration, Gaylord Enterprises, Bank of Oklahoma, and OG&E Energy.
