Hello and Welcome to Mrs. Brese's Site

Thank you for visiting my web site. The following is just a little of my background information.

My first career started after graduation from Del City High School in 1977; I am a licensed cosmetologist, salon owner and a licensed cosmetology instructor. Through the years as a professional stylist and as a seminar educator and guest speaker, I had the opportunity to travel across the United States and Canada.

In 1992, I chose to start a second career, to become a Math teacher. In 1996, I earned an Associate Degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma City Community College and then transferred to the College of Education at OU.  In 1999, I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, Mathematics, graduating with distinctions from the University of Oklahoma.

Starting at Brink Junior High, January 2000, I have enjoyed teaching Mathematics in the Moore School District. My style of teaching is to engage my students in the classroom by incorporating modern instruction and the latest technology. August 2010, I was appointed Brink's Math Department Chair.

The summer of 2007, I had the privileged opportunity to attend the Texas Instruments’ training facility for a 1-week TI-nspire workshop. I was 1 of 125 educators from the US and Canada that was trained to use their latest tool, the TI-nspire handheld unit. I have been given a full classroom set of these hi-tech tools so that I can use them with my students and other teachers. I am proud that I can offer my students an interactive tool to help increase their application of the education that our schools offer. Returning to the Texas Instruments training facility for leadership training during the summer of 2008, I became a certified T³ Regional Instructor. This has given me the opportunity to bring as much technology to my students and colleagues as one could hope.

November 2012, the education process for me had come full circle. I was honored to be inducted into the Oklahoma City Community College Alumni Hall of Fame. This is such an honor, to be recognized for my accomplishments and success since receiving my Mathematics degree at OCCC. I will say that the foundation of my career and my leadership skills were developed while attending this wonderful college; it is an experience that I will forever be thankful for.

It is my belief that my students should have faith in me and depend on me for the best education they can acquire, while in my classroom. I make myself available to my students before school, after school and in the evenings. I love doing math and helping others to understand at a comfortable, confident and successful level.
