• Hello and Welcome to Mrs. Freedom Terrell's Site

This (2022-23) is my 22nd year in the teaching profession.  I absolutely love what I do.  I have taught 7th Grade Math, Beginning Algebra, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and Geometry in the course of my career.  This year, I have one class of Honors Algebra I and four classes of 8th Grade Pre-Algebra and have the privilege of working with a para-professional teacher in three of my classes. In classes where para-professional teachers are present, students will have access to both of us for assistance and each adult in the room will work to ensure your child's understanding of procedures, content/class material and follow the expectations and discipline set out in the course syllabus.
During the 2014-15 school year, I was nominated by my colleagues to represent our school as the Brink Junior High Teacher of the Year!  There are so many deserving teachers here at Brink, but I am thankful to have been chosen.  What an honor...
In December of 2018, I achieved National Board certification in Mathematics/Early Adolescence. This is one of my greatest journeys as it really made me look at how and what I do in my classroom, helping me see how those things affect my students and their learning.
I believe that every student can learn. We all have difficulties with different things in our lives, but all students can have some measure of success. My goal or mission is to help my students see that they are intelligent and important!
