    About the teacher:

        Mr. Williams teaches Chorus, to 7th, and 8th graders, and Yearbook/Newspaper to 8th graders. He also sponsors Show Choir and facilitates choir excursions to places like Six Flags Over Texas, and Branson.

        Rick Williams attended Lincoln Elementary, then Taft Junior High Schools in
    Oklahoma City through his seventh-grade year. He then transfered to Moore
    Central Junior High and graduated from Moore High School. Mr. W. holds a
    bachelor's degree in Vocal Music & General Music Education from the
    University of Oklahoma. He also obtained certification in Kodaly Music
    Education from OU as part of his graduate degree.
        Mr. Williams began teaching in Norman at Longfellow Middle School, where
    Norman North High School is now located. He subsequently came to Moore
    Schools where he taught elementary music for eleven years. He has been the
    Choral Director at Central Junior High since its inception in 1994. Mr. Williams began teaching Introduction to Yearbook/Newspaper in the fall of 2016.
        Mr. Williams has a wife (who retired from teaching at Central Junior High in 2018), two sons,
    and three grand children. He loves bicycling, playing the guitar, collecting folk
    songs, all things techno, and helping young people to sing and enjoy all types of music.

    CHORAL MISSION STATEMENT

        We will employ music and work as an ensemble for camaraderie, emotional
    outlets, esthetic communication, mastery of skills, and a sense of joy.
