    Private lessons are HIGHLY encouraged for both 7th and 8th grade band students. Studying with a private teacher offers the opportunity for students to excel on their instrument above and beyond the typical progression of the class. Most students who study privately perform better on their instrument, and are more comfortable and successful with honor band auditions, solo contests, etc.
