ABOUT ME
Hello and welcome! After earning my bachelor's and master's degrees in History from the University of Oklahoma, I returned to my alma mater twenty-one years ago to teach social studies. I have taught Oklahoma History, Honors Oklahoma History, US History, World History, Advanced Placement European History, 20th Century World History, Ethnic Studies, and Advanced Placement World History while at WHS. In addition to my annual Advanced Placement training and exam reading, I focus much of my professional development in the areas of Holocaust and Genocide Studies and International Conflict Resolution. I have attended the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Arthur and Rochelle Belfer National Conference for Educators I, II, and Next Step programs, Yad Vashem's International Conference on Holocaust Education and Echoes and Reflections workshops as well as participating in Facing History and Ourselves' Holocaust and Human Behavior, Crimes Against Humanity, Fundamentals of Freedom, and Be The Change programs. I also serve as the director of curriculum for the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils (OASC) leadership workshop, BASIC, held each summer. In the fall of 2017, I started an Ed.D. program in Educational Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision at the University of Oklahoma.
I am proud to be entering my seventh year as a senior class sponsor. I am a founding member of the Westmoore High School Alumni Association. I received my National Board Certification in 2007 and achieved renewal of that certification in 2017. Westmoore is a great place to be and I hope to share that experience with you!
