•      I have been teaching with Moore Public Schools for 22 years. I taught fourth grade math and science for four years at Briarwood and loved it. However, I moved down to third grade because I wanted to teach all the subjects and have my students all day long. I love that more! I  started my career at Briarwood in 1995 and taught for 17 years here. After the 2013 tornado, Briarwood enrollment was down so I went to Fairview for  four years. I am now so happy to be back at Briarwood. I plan to finish out my career here but that won't be for several years.
Before teaching, I had a home day care center for five years while my own children were young. I had a license for an out-of-home day care center so usually had 9 children at a time. That is what made me realize I wanted my career to remain with children so I attended the University of Oklahoma and received a bachelors degree in education with a language arts endorsement. I became State Certified in 1995. I decided to further my career and became National Board Certified in 2007. National Board Certification is not a requirement but is a program many teachers choose to pursue.
