Principal's Message

  •  V. DeCarlo
Hello! My Name is Mrs. Vernona DeCarlo and I am thrilled to be the principal at Northmoor Elementary School. I am beginning  my thirty-third year in education and have been serving in Moore Public Schools for the past thirty-one years. This is my eleventh year in administration and have served at Southgate-Rippetoe, Sky Ranch, and Fairview Elementary Schools in Moore. I spent twenty-one years in the classroom teaching second, third, and sixth grades at Houchin and Briarwood Elementary. As a mother of two children, I understand the need for children to feel safe, loved, and respected when they are at school. It is my goal everyday to create a peaceful and supportive climate where all children can learn.
Northmoor is a school with a reputation rich in success. Our school is comprised of approximately three hundred students Kindergarten through 6th grade. We have highly motivated teachers and a valued staff of paraprofessionals. The students at Northmoor benefit from dedicated teachers and data driven education that they receive on a daily basis. We celebrate the successes of children every day and find innovative ways to motivate each student to find their way to succeed academically as well as socially. In 2017, Northmoor won a $40,000 OETT grant that we have used  toward the purchase of technology for our students' daily use in the classroom. This year, we are excited to be implementing many more technology opportunities in the classrooms!

I believe that parent involvement is another key component to student success.  Please consider joining our amazing PTA and finding ways to serve in our school whether your commitment is big or small. We  celebrated six straight years of 100% PTA membership!  We welcome your support and ideas as we encourage both our students and teachers. One way to stay informed about our many activities is to join our Northmoor PTA  Facebook page. You can find everything from  breakfast/lunch menus to a monthly newsletter full of pertinent information. Signing up for Class Dojo and Peach Jar will also keep you informed about many things related to our school.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or email.

    Most Sincerely,

    Vernona DeCarlo    M.Ed.
