I received my BS in math education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1987 and my masters degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2001.
I began teaching at Choctaw Jr. High in 1988 and stayed for 5 years. My next position was at Del City High School from 1993-2011 where I taught every math subject imaginable over the years, including AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics, while also being the department chair. I have been teaching at Southmoore HS since August 2011 where I have been the AP Calculus BC and AB instructor as well as the Pre-AP Precalculus/Trig (formerly called Math Analysis) instructor.
I live in Norman with my beloved dog, Benji. I have two grown sons, Cal and Lucas. Cal owns a Farmer's Insurance Agency in Edmond. He and his wife Jessica are raising their sons Cody, 4, and Colin, 1. My younger son Lucas is in his fourth year of residency as an Anesthesiologist at OU Medical Center. Lucas and his wife, Kylie, are raising their two daughters, Penelope, 4, and Emmy, 3.
I love to travel, read, shop, garden and my guilty pleasure is to watch reality TV. I traveled to the Grand Canyon this past summer enjoying this beautiful natural marvel from the land, air, and water.
