Hello! I am Jennifer Fillmore (formerly Ms. Beard), and I am excited to be a Westmoore Jaguar! This is my ninth year teaching at Westmoore High School. I have been in education for 19 years. In addition to teaching English II & III at Westmoore, I also teach English Comp I & II at Oklahoma City Community College (evenings & online). I have a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Central Oklahoma. I am originally from Stillwater, Oklahoma, but I have lived in or near Oklahoma City since 2001. My husband, daughter, and I currently reside in Choctaw. My daughter's name is Berkley; she is my best friend and a seventh grader this year. And I have two crazy dogs--Penny and Gatsby--my "fur babies." Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our 10-year-old boxer, Max, in November of 2019.One unique fact about me is that I compete in pageants. After seven years of competing in state-level pageants, I ultimately broke my "1st Runner-Up Streak," and I was FINALLY awarded the title of Mrs. Oklahoma International 2018! My dream of competing at an international-level pageant was fulfilled in July 2018 when I had the privilege of representing the great state of Oklahoma at the 2018 Mrs. International Pageant in Charleston, West Virginia, during the week of July 16-21, 2018. I thought I was done competing after achieving my goal... however, I felt called to keep going, so I competed on March 24, 2019, for the title of MRS. OKLAHOMA UNITED STATES 2019, and I WON! I represented Oklahoma at the 2019 Mrs. United States Pageant in Las Vegas, August 1-4, 2019, and I had the time of my life! I then served as Mrs. Oklahoma County America for the greater part of 2020. For my final state title, I was selected as MRS. OKLAHOMA EARTH 2020-2021, and I represented our state at the 2021 Mrs. USA Earth Pageant, January 14-17, 2021, in Orlando, Florida. I placed in the Top 8, which means I exceeded my goal! In my first two national pageants, I had not moved past the preliminary round, but in my final national pageant, I not only advanced to the Top 12 but also the Top 8. It was very exciting!I am so very happy and grateful to be working with the outstanding faculty, staff, and students who comprise the "Jaguar Pride" that makes Westmoore High School #1. GO JAGS!
