Fifth Grade Students will present the Living History Museum on May 17, 2018 in the fifth grade hall from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. We invite our parents and other friends and family members to come and take part. You will be able to enjoy and celebrate our learning with us. We hope you will make every effort to come.
Parents: Students are expected to dress in colonial attire. However, please do not feel obligated to purchase items for this.
If you have or can borrow baseball pants, they work well to substitute for the breeches worn in colonial times, and add a simple white shirt for male historical figures. A suit coat could be used if you have one, and a tri corner hat can be made from construction paper. Certainly, wigs may be made, scarves have been used to mimic the ruffles on shirts of the day, etc.
Women would have worn dresses and some may have worn aprons over their dresses. A coif was a popular head covering of the time for women and could be created with items from home, possibly old white t-shirts.
Native Americans would have worn leather items, so brown clothing items could be used for this.
