About the Sponsor

Hello, My Name is Lindsay Evans and I have been the cheer sponsor/coach for Highland East for 3 years. I have worked for MPS in the Special Education department for 6 years as a Highly Qualified Paraprofessional. I have been married for 21 years to my wonferful and supportive husband Dan. We have 4 daughters. All of which have participated in the MPS cheer programs from Jr. High thru High School. This is our 7th consecutive year in cheerleading. 

My philosophy for cheer has been to create bonds, relationships and memories that will last a lifetime while instilling character and self confidence that will carry on into the adult world. I have enjoyed watching the cheerleaders learn and grow. I feel very honored and blessed to be apart of their lives each day. Every single cheerleader that has been through our program holds a special place in my heart!

  • 2018-2019 CHEER PACKETS

    A district wide informational meeting will be held in the commons at Southmoore High School on Febuary 26th and will begin at 5:30pm. Information will be given about tryouts, expenses and upcoming events.

    If you cannot attend the meeting, Cheer Packets will be available in the office Febuary 27th and are due back by March 14th no later than 12pm.

    CHEER CLINIC NEW TIMES and LOCATION  (revised 3/12/18)

    The required clinic for HEJH will be March 26th, 27th and 28th from 5-6:30pm at the Westmoore gym. Clinics are closed to parents, participants only. Wear t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes to the clinics (Must be school appropriate). Please be prompt in picking up.

    CHEER TRYOUTS (NEW DATE, revised 3/12/18)

    Tryouts will be held on March 30th at 2pm. You will have to check out of school, absenses will be excused. Arrive 30 minuets before the tryout. Only parents listed in the tryout packet will be able to attend. All others will be able to watch via closed circuit TV in another room. Fee for spectators is $5.


    To be successful all practices are required and will be at least 2 days a week. Please plan doctor's appointments on other days other than practice days. A practice calendar will be handed out prior to each month. Practices are set for Wednesday's and Friday's 4-6pm until schools out, 8-10am over the summer and 2:45-4:45pm when school resumes. Competition season will require more practices, those are TBA. 


    Required summer camp will be held at the University of OKlahoma June 11th-13th.


    Summer release is set for July 1st-14th. No exceptions, Please plan vacations accordingly.
