I love teaching Elementary Art have been teaching Art for over 10 years. I have taught art to every grade from PK-12. I was 2013 Oklahoma Middle School Art Educator of the Year. I have been involved in the Oklahoma Art Education Association since 2003. I have been the Youth Art Month Co-Chair and the Junior Young Talent in Oklahoma Co-Chair and am the current Historian for the OAEA. I have written many articles for publication in the Artifice. I have volunteered at the Norman Community Thanksgiving dinner delivering meals on wheels, at the Norman Animal Shelter walking dogs, at the Senior Counseling Center at Norman Regional presenting art therapy workshops for patients, at the Visual Arts Scholarship Event, and at Immanuel Baptist Church where I am a member. I also dedicate my time and energy to promoting my student's art by entering it in various art shows including the State Superintendent's Art Show, Young People's Art Exhibit, Moore District Art Show, National Art Education Association Art Show, Oklahoma State Fair Art Show, Jr. Young Talent in Oklahoma, OAEA Flag Design, and YAM Door Knockers for Oklahoma Senators and Congressman. I have presented workshops at the OAEA Conventions, Social Studies and Fine Arts Conferences, and at the Great State Fair of Oklahoma. I recently recieved a $1,000 grant from the Moore Public Schools Foundation for a STEAM Lab and will begin the STEAM Club November 27th.
