This year marks my 10th year teaching freshmen English--and I love it. Many moons ago, I graduated with a degree in English from UCO in Edmond. After several years of bouncing between career paths and industries, I found my way to education. I understand that not everyone who walks into my classroom loves literature, writing, and grammar, and that's okay. My goal for my students is simple--to be able to express yourself in an educated, well-thought-out, meaningful manner. Reading and writing aren't always freshmen students' favorite activities, but sharing their ideas and opinions (about nearly anything and everything) certainly ranks high on their lists. Throughout this school year, my students will do many activities and assignments with one goal in mind: to be effective communicators.
