Free and Reduced Meal Applications Provide More Than Meals
As school begins next week, MPS reminds families of the importance of submitting a Federal Free and Reduced Meal Application online. The many benefits of the single form per household extend far beyond meals for families.

Federal Waivers for Free School Meals End June 30 in Oklahoma
The final waiver that provided free school lunches for public school students throughout the pandemic ends June 30. Moore Public Schools’ families must apply for the Free and Reduced Lunch program to continue receiving meal benefits for their students when school begins on Thurs., Aug. 11.

Senior Walks at Elementary Schools
Seniors from Moore, Westmoore and Southmoore High Schools will hold commencement exercises this week, but last week, seniors had the chance to visit their former elementary schools and walk the halls to the thunderous claps and cheers from MPS littles. Each graduation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the MPS Football Stadium on Eastern Ave. WHS graduation is May 17, Southmoore is May 19 and Moore is May 20.

MPS Track and Field Teams Set for State Tournament
The combined track and field teams at Moore, Westmoore and Southmoore High Schools will have 80 state-qualified students run for titles this week at the Oklahoma 6A State Track and Field tournament.Â

MPS Night School Graduates Class of 2022
Students enrolled in Night School through Moore Public Schools walked the stage as 2022 graduates before their family and friends last night at Moore High School. Students represent the high schools where they are enrolled and so they are graduates of Moore, Westmoore and Southmoore High Schools.

Southmoore High School Director of Bands Adam Mewhorter has been named winner of the Heart of The Arts Award for Section 6 by The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Section 6 includes Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Arkansas.

Southmoore Teacher Blevins Earns Only James Madison Fellowship Scholarship in OK
Southmoore High School Teacher Jennifer Blevins was recently named the James Madison Fellowship Scholarship winner. Only one scholarship is awarded per state and provides $24,000 in funding for a master's degree related to the study of the U.S. Constitution, American History, or American Government.Â

MPS Archery Results On-Point at the OKNASP Tournament
Moore Public Schools had over 300 students between 4th and 6th grade from multiple elementary and junior high schools participate in the Oklahoma National Archery in the Schools Program (OKNASP) Tier 2 tournament on Feb. 16 and 17.

Moore Public Schools junior high and high school students in band and choir took high honors during the annual all-State conferences for the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OKMEA) and the Oklahoma Choir Directors Association (OKCDA).Â

Westmoore Graduate Selected to the NAIA First Team, Offensive Line
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics recently released their NAIA Football All-America Teams, announced by the American Football Coaches Association. Westmoore High School 2018 graduate Jarren Hightower made the First Team, is one of only 11 listed for the offensive team and is one of only four selected for the offensive line.

Westmoore Named 2021 Football State Academic Champion
The Westmoore High School football team was recently named the 6A Division I, 2021 Football State Academic Champion by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA).
