• Introducing ICAP

    March 3, 2020

This letter contains important information about Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAPs).  Every 7th through 12th grade student in Moore Public Schools will have an ICAP.  Parents and families play an important role in helping children plan for and reach their postsecondary goals.

     What is ICAP?

Our district has decided to focus our attention on ICAPs. We want to make this plan available to every student beginning in the seventh grade.  ICAP is an individualized plan that is developed by students and their parents or guardians, in collaboration with school counselors and educators.  The ICAP will help students:

    • establish personalized academic and career goals
    • explore postsecondary career and educational opportunities
    • align course work and curriculum
    • apply to postsecondary institutions
    • secure financial aid
    • enter the workforce or school

Why are we writing parents and families now?

During a traditional school year, counselors meet with seventh- and eighth-grade students to renew their commitment to and ownership of their ICAPs. For students who are attending school virtually, we invite them to participate in the same activities. Students will utilize these tools to explore interests, careers, colleges, scholarships and more.

     How do we get started?

Click here to access the OKCareerGuide website and take the required assessments. Select “Log in with Clever.” Your log in is your school email and the password you use to sign into your computer. Once you are in the program, you will be able to complete the required assessments, as follows:

    • All 7th and 8th grade students need to complete the Career Interest Assessment.
    • All 8th grade students will need to complete the Career Skills Confidence Assessment, as well.

After you complete the required assessment(s), explore your Pathways and Occupations.

     Can parents access this information?

We strongly encourage you, as parents, to be part of this process with your student(s). You are able to create a parent account by following these steps: While your student is logged in, click your profile icon (top right). Click Account Settings.
