welcom Hello!  My name is Amy Raney and I will be your child’s guidance counselor this year.  This year will begin my 20th year in education.  I recieved my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from Southern Nazarene University and have taught pre-k, kindergarten and first grade from Oklahoma down to Texas and back again.   I graduated with a Masters in Education in Guidance Counseling in 2010 as well as becoming certified in Choice Theory and Reality Therapy from the William Glasser Institute in 2011.  I recently recieved a Masters in Science degree in Applied Behavioral Health, from Mid-America Christian University.
August is an exciting time-as your student embarks upon new adventures in the world of learning.   It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes.  Each child will progress at his or her own individual rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready.
Maintaining each child’s sense of self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority when I am in the classroom with your child or when they come to visit me in my office.  In this I ask your help and cooperation-applaud every new accomplishment, no matter how small it may seem.  This will keep the enthusiasm for learning alive and growing.
On a personal note, I have 3 WONDERUFUL children (My older 2 sons are former Bears, and my youngest one is currently attending Briarwood).    In my spare time, I like to play tennis, read,  geocache and spend time at Big Cedar lodge.                                       me and the kids
Please stay in touch.  If you have any concerns about your child’s developmental or academic progress or wish to discuss anything which you feel may affect your child’s ability to learn, email me at amyraney@mooreschools.com
I love all of my students as if they are my own and we will be doing our best this year to show your child safety, security,
FUN, and lots and lots of LOVE!!!!!!!!!!I am very excited about all we will be doing this year and am pleased to have your child in our school family!
