Welcome Back Wayland Bonds Students and Community:

Let me first welcome you back to Wayland Bonds Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year!!

My name is Patrick E. Chase; I am the new Principal at Wayland Bonds.  This is my first AMAZING year at Wayland Bonds, and I am so humbled and grateful to be leading such a wonderful school.  I have been a principal in this district for 11 years.  I’ve had the privilege of leading two terrific schools, Plaza Towers Elementary and most recently Winding Creek Elementary.  This year is going to be an exciting and wonderful year for our students, teachers, and community.  Our school has a few new mottos that our students, teachers and community live by: “The Bronco Code”, “Be Focused”, “Be Respectful”, “Be Ready to Learn”, “No Excuses, High Expectations,” and of course, “Reading is Power.”  These mottos are shining examples of the commitment to excellence Wayland Bonds will provide your child every day.  Our school theme this year is “Bring Back the 80’s” and we cannot wait to celebrate all our students’ successes for the 22/23 school year.

There are several changes this year due to the world around us, please continue to refer to our district’s “Return to Learn” plan on our school webpage and continue to go over these procedures with your child.  The safety of your child and all our Wayland Bonds Staff are of the utmost importance. 

 We will be holding our traditional school open house this year on August 9^th from 4-6pm.    Please check our school website, and PTA Facebook page for specific info.  For the school year ’22-’23, parents can walk their child to class the first day of school only.  Parents can also check their students out for lunch but cannot have lunch with their child at the school.  Please refer to the “Return to Learn” plan on the district and school website for any specific information. Please look for separate information regarding arrival and dismissal procedures. 

Together, along with our fantastic educators, success and learning will be not only contagious, but a daily routine.  As the new school year approaches, there are many changes and procedures I want you as parents to be aware of before the school year begins, so we can get off to a smooth start for everyone.
