Every year Moore Public schools hosts a District Science Olympics Competition for 2nd – 6th grade students. This competition is in lieu of the district science fair.

The Science Olympics have been established to:

  • Encourage student participation in implementing and learning science and the science and engineering practices.
  • Promote STEM content and application in the classroom.
  • Encourage students understanding of STEM design and challenges for future scientific exploration.

All design challenge events are completed in one day and students are required to finish all work on site without assistance from teachers or parents. Prior practice at school sites will increase success on the day of the event.
