Moore Council PTA Honors 2026 Pat Henry and Reflections Award Winners

Moore Public Schools celebrated Founder's Day with the Moore Council PTA during their annual 2026 Reflections Art Awards and the Pat Henry Awards held at Emmaus Baptist Church on Feb. 17. Apple Creek Elementary's Maria Bass was named the 2025-26 Pat Henry Award winner. She teaches 6th-grade math and is the Student Council sponsor.

According to the National PTA website, "Founders’ Day, Feb. 17, is when we celebrate the legacy and work of our founders, Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst, and Selena Sloan Butler, to better the lives of every child in education, health, and safety."

"It is a time to reflect and take pride in our achievements, and renew our commitment to be a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for parents, and a strong advocate for public education."

The Pat Henry Award recognizes a school staff member, an administrator, or a school board member whose collaborative efforts with a local PTA/PTSA/SEPTA unit enhance the National PTA Standards for Parent and Family Involvement Programs.
