    For basketball season: Only students from the two schools playing are allowed to attend without a parent.  IDs must be worn. Students must be picked up within 15 minutes after the end of games.  Students, please remember to throw your trash away in the appropriate garbage cans - NOT IN THE STANDS!  There should be no spilled cokes or flaming cheetos all over the aisles.  Please take care of your building.

     

     

    Come one! Come all! Come join the party with FCA as we will be meeting each Friday morning at 7:15 in the Media Center to enjoy donuts, an encouraging word, and time with friends as we celebrate the life we've been given. See you there!

     

     

    Hey Leopards! Who wants to win $500? Do you have a favorite book? If so, then enter the "My Favorite Book" writing contest. Information was announced through the Media Center Canvas page and is hanging outside the Media Center. You can't win if you don't enter!  (12/2)

    Honor Society Members:Please remember to donate to the Moore Animal Shelter. It has been extended to next Friday, Dec. 9th. The Moore Animal Shelter thanks you!

         Leopards, please help the Moore Animal Shelter! Turn in your donations to Ms. Chancey in room 106 and the NJHS will get them where they need to go!

         Members - we will meet after school, today to create the Care Share blankets.  Meet outside the cafeteria at 2:20 and remember to have your ride here by 3:15.

         Our member meeting is this Friday, Dec 2, during 2nd hour. We will have donuts and check out the stockings for our Stocking Stuffers project for Santa's Cause. Remember to keep up with missed work. (12/1)

     

     

    Read-n-Fun is TODAY for Mr. Woods and Ms. DeCarlos' students. If you donated $5.00 for the library fundraiser, after your teacher takes attendance and dismisses you with your backpack, come directly to the Media Center. Read and have fun! (12/1)

     

     

    Are you creative? Do you like to draw? Then enter the "It's 'SNOW' much fun" bookmark contest. After you have drawn out your design, pick up one blank book mark to transfer your design to it. Put your grade and first/last name on the back of the bookmark. Prizes are awarded. Deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 20th. (12/2)

    Oklahoma Math Tutoring Corps: Open Student Enrollment

    The Oklahoma Math Tutoring Corps registration for the Spring 2023 session is now open for Oklahoma students in grades 7, 8 and 9. This high-dosage tutoring program provides 50-minute virtual tutoring sessions three times a week in groups of no more than four students. Please share this flier with your students’ families and encourage them to register for this free opportunity.

    The OSDE launched a successful pilot program for Math Tutoring Corps in spring 2022 with nearly 400 participants. A post-pilot survey revealed:

    • 90% of participants increased their understanding of mathematics.
    • 84% of families said participating students were more confident about math.
    • 84% of students indicated they would be more likely to persevere after making a mistake.

    The Spring 2023 session is 12 weeks, occurring January 8 to March 11 and March 26 to April 15, 2023. Families and students can enroll for the upcoming session through this link before December 1, 2022. The OSDE will provide any needed technology or internet access, and tutoring schedules will occur during students’ free time outside of the school day.

    There will be family informational meetings held on November 3 and November 15 for those wanting more information. Links for the meetings along with additional information is available on the OSDE’s Math Tutoring Corps webpage.

    District and school administrators may recommend students to participate in the Oklahoma Math Tutoring Corps. Please use the following guidelines when determining students to recommend. Click here to recommend students.

    • Recommended student(s) are currently enrolled in grades 7, 8, or 9.
    • Recommended student(s) are enrolled in an on-grade-level math course
      • On-level 7th Grade is 7th Grade Math
      • On-level 8th Grade is Pre-Algebra
      • On-level 9th Grade is Algebra I
    • Suggested: Recommended student(s) have earned 250-300 on a previous Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP) assessment or consistently are near/approaching proficiency on district and/or school-level assessments.

    The Oklahoma Math Tutoring Corps was featured on News 9 in Oklahoma City and Fox 23 in Tulsa.
