Rusty Anderson EdTech Specialist
Rusty is 100% a product of MPS – from ASC (born in the second-floor maternity ward when the building was Moore’s hospital), through Northmoor, HWJH, and Moore HS. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and his master’s degree in Instructional Psychology & Technology from the University of Oklahoma. After eighteen years in the classroom (all at Westmoore HS), Rusty made the transition to the MPS EdTech team, and primarily serves WHS and its feeder schools while also maintaining many website functionalities and edits for the district.
Music has been a love of Rusty's his entire life. Rusty would go on to spend seven years touring, playing lead guitar and singing harmonies for the Grammy Award winning “Urban Cowboy Band” and country artist Johnny Lee of Urban Cowboy and “Lookin’ for Love” fame. This period also yielded some great memories and stories, backing up artists such as guitar icon Roy Clark, Restless Heart, Sawyer Brown, and performing for Garth Brooks at an awards show (his ONLY nervous onstage moment EVER!). These days he'd rather stay close to home, serving MPS as a PD trainer and EdTech Specialist when he's not Jeepin’ around out with his wife and son in his spare time.
