Free and Reduced Meal Applications Provide More Than Meals
MOORE, Okla. (Aug. 5, 2022) – As school begins next week, Moore Public Schools reminds its families that each school year they must submit a Federal Free and Reduced School Meals form to continue receiving meal benefits for their students. Only one application is needed per family, no matter the number of students in the household. Additionally, household members do not need to be U.S. Citizens or provide a Social Security Number to qualify to receive meal benefits.
The importance of the form can extend beyond meals for families, as some qualifying students may also be eligible for:
Free college applications
Free ACT or SAT exams
A benefit of internet services
Benefits of technology
After-School Care snacks
The cost for MPS meals for the 2022-23 school year is set to:
Breakfast: $1.50 regular; $.30 reduced
Lunch: $3 regular; $.40 reduced
Families who qualify for free and reduced meals may also qualify for the federal Affordable Connectivity Benefit which offsets the cost of at-home internet. The ACB may be filled out only after the free and reduced meal form is complete. The ACB form is found here: https://www.affordableconnectivity.gov/
